Review: Take Me to Your Leader – Newsboys

Take me to Your LeaderThis is one of the best Newsboys albums ever. One of the reasons is the raw sound of it, and probably also because Duncan Phillips is JUST on percussion.

Take Me to Your Leader starts off with God is Not a Secret, a great opening song, next is the title track, one of my favorite Newsboys songs ever. After Breathe is two of Newsboys biggest hits ever, Reality and the timeless Breakfast. The next half is a little bit weaker, but has some good songs. I always skip Let it Go, but I might just skip it to get to Cup O’ Tea. It’s All Who You Know is an ok song, Miracle Child isn’t very good, but the last two songs are very good. Lost the Plot has some of the best Newsboys lyrics ever, and to close off the album is Phil Joel’s first lead vocal appearance; in Breathe (Benediction).
